This exhibition of ten American sculptors at the Fundaçao Serralves in Oporto, Portugal was part of an exchange of sorts sponsored by the Luso-American Foundation. Each artist showed a work within the Villa Serralves, and developed a new piece outside in the spacious gardens. Threshold was followed a year later by Drawings from a Distant Shore, a group exhibition of Portugese artists at the Drawing Center in Soho.
